Ashburton Community Alcohol & Drug Services provide services that empower individuals and communities to increase their knowledge and control over their physical, mental and social wellbeing.

You can access ACADS if you’re concerned about your drinking or other drug use, or the drinking or drugs use of someone you know. Their team provides free and confidential services, including counselling for adults and young people, support groups, health promotion, information and advice.

ACADS also has a public health service that works in various settings and communities to encourage activities that support the reduction of alcohol and other drug related harm.

Individual counselling for adults and youth

ACADS use innovative strategies to help you stop or reduce substance use and reconnect you with family or the community. With trained counsellors that are non-judgemental and recognise the importance of physical, mental, social, cultural and spiritual wellbeing.

Family support

ACADS supports families that have concerns about a family member’s alcohol or other drug use. This could be providing information, helping them to start a conversation to voice their feelings, or helping the family to keep themselves safe.
