Te Roopu Taurima is the largest health and disability kaupapa Māori service provider that supports people of all ethnicities with intellectual impairments, servicing Te Tai Tokerau, Tāmaki Makaurau, Midlands and Ōtautahi regions. Te Roopu Taurima’s overarching aim is to provide our tangata with a quality of life that allows them to live as individuals, empowering them with choices.

Te Roopu Taurima provides residential and vocational support to clients, known as tāngata, as well as out of family respite care, caregiver support, high and complex needs support, and choices in community living. They also have one whare based in Te Tai Tokerau that is for people requiring mental health support, known as tāngata whaiora.

They do this by providing cultural support through our kaumatua, whaea, and kaimahi; as well as actively seeking and encouraging whanau contact and participation in decision-making. Combined with community involvement, tangata’s lives are enriched greatly.

RIDSAS - RIDSAS is a highly specialised service, delivered by a pool of skilled employees, which provides support for intellectually disabled people who have high and complex needs, some of whom are referred under the Intellectual Disability Compulsory Care & Rehabilitation Act (IDCC&R) Act 2003.
