The South Primary Mental Health Brief Intervention Service offers a range of specialized services aimed at addressing mild to moderate mental health concerns for adults aged 20 years and above in the Otago/Southland area. These services consist of short-term treatment and intervention, limited to a maximum of five sessions. Referrals for this service can be made by general practitioners (GPs) or practice nurses. Examples of brief interventions that can be offered include educational sessions on emotional wellness, guidance on medication and illness prevention, stress management techniques and talking therapy.
