Whitireia and WelTec - Disability Support

Whitireia and WelTec (a business division of Te Pūkenga - New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology) are committed to inclusive education and eliminating barriers for people with disabilities.

Their Disability Support team provide a confidential service to support you if you have disabilities, mental health issues or specific learning difficulties. They can tailor their support to your specific needs.

Services they offer include:

• confidential support  
• information and guidance regarding disabilities and teaching/learning strategies  
• working with you and your family/whānau in preparing to study with us  
• connection with external and internal support providers (i.e. mentors and learning advisors) 
• development of Educational Support Plans 
• pastoral care 
• specialized equipment  
• exams support (Reader/Writer, separate accommodations, extra time)  
• helping your tutors find the right learning method to suit you  
• transitioning into further study or employment

Disability Support is available at all campuses. You can meet with them before you enrol or at any time during your learning journey.
