Te Roopu Waiora Trust is a kaupapa Māori health provider, established by Māori with disabilities to work with whānau and their communities to:

  • create a supportive environment for whānau to identify their own disability resource needs
  • provide disability information, policy knowledge, advice and support to whānau with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities.

Te Roopu Waiora is led by a team of kaimahi/mentors with lived experience of hauātanga, heading the following initiatives:

  • Whakauruhia - Career training with whānau and rangatahi hauā
  • Paerangi - a website with social media forums, an app and a call centre providing Māori relevant, disability accessible information
  • Aromatawai - A simple survey of 16 questions, encouraging service users to choose an organisation and assess how well it provides services to you and your whānau
  • Te Matapuna - a living, community knowledge centre
  • Mahi Ahei - improving access and inclusion

Te Roopu Waiora work with the Counties Manukau, Auckland and Waitemata District Health Boards.
