Aim High Charitable Trust

We aim to enhance the quality of life of people with disabilities in our community by providing them with the necessary experience, education, and training to perform adequately in society.

We encourage people with disabilities to “aim higher” in life and achieve higher goals despite their challenges and struggles.

Aim High Charitable Trust is a non-profitable service provider for people with disabilities.

They are located in ST. LUKE’S METHODIST CHURCH in Northcote.

Currently, they offer two types of support for those who may be interested:

  • Day-care
  • Vocational support.

Aim High Day - Care Centre:

They provide various educational and vocational programs specifically designed to suit individual needs.

Their mission is to encourage and keep their clients active, so they offer various indoor activities to keep their clients energetic. Some activities are board games, puzzles, arts and crafts, workout sessions, badminton, table tennis, roller skating, jump jam and dance.

Aim High also offers a range of outdoor activities during the school holidays – these include rock climbing, kayaking, tree adventures, ice skating, visits to the zoo and aquarium. They can organise the sessions at their client’s convenience (specific days and times can be arranged weekly). While their clients are at the Aim High Centre, their staff will take care of and support them.

Aim High's daycare service rate is $25/hour and is paid in advance fortnightly.

Aim High Café:

Aim High Café aims to develop a lifelong education system to promote social independence for people with disabilities as part of their mission.

Aim High Café is the first step of building a supervised workplace for their people and providing the necessary experience and training. Their ultimate goal is to have the café run independently by people with disabilities.

They offer a range of training based on individual capabilities, from simple tasks like packaging and labelling the café goods to complex café-related tasks like taking and serving orders, making coffees and baking.

Aim High Café's clients could also engage in making the fundraising products that they have at the café. At the moment, they offer free training sessions for those enrolled in the Aim High Centre – new clients need to familiarise themselves with them and the new environment and for them to recognise their capabilities. There is no cost for engaging in their café-training; initially, their clients will gain experience at the café as volunteers.

For those seeking to join a weekly program for a short session, they have Arts & Craft and Workout sessions every Tuesday from 1 PM – 2:30 PM. Their rate for the weekly program is $10/hour; Support workers are required to come along and take care of the clients during this program. Aim High Café offers complimentary café-training sessions at Aim High Café for whom may enrol in this program. They are also planning to have more of these programs with various activities like Zumba, k-pop dance, taekwondo, jujitsu, yoga and cooking – hopefully, we’ll be able to give further notice about this in the near future!
