Citizens Advice Bureau - Newtown

The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) provides free, confidential, independent information and advice to anyone. They help people know what their rights are and how to access services they need. They use insights from their clients' experiences to show when policies and laws and/or their implementation are having a negative impact on people. They work for positive social change. They are an independent community organisation whose service is delivered by over 2,000 committed and trained volunteers.

You can get their help by:

  • visiting in person
  • phoning
  • emailing
  • chatting with them using the chat button on their website
  • reading the information about rights and local community organisations that is available on their website

Many CABs also offer additional services, such as advocacy services, legal clinics and JP services. You can find out what additional services are offered at the Newtown CAB here: https://www.cab.org.nz/location/cab-newtown
