YES Disability Resource Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equitable representation of disabled youth and individuals with learning differences in governance, planning, and employment opportunities.
YES stands as the sole disability information center in New Zealand with a distinct focus on youth with disabilities. We take pride in the fact that all our projects and programs are collaboratively designed and executed in partnership with young leaders within the disability sector. This approach guarantees that we create an optimal environment for both these young leaders and their peers, enabling personal and professional growth.
Our primary mission is to offer support, engagement, and empowerment to young individuals with disabilities through a comprehensive array of resources, networks, opportunities, and projects. These initiatives are specifically designed to assist these young people in their transition journey, foster their professional development, and enhance their overall well-being (Hauora). Our team is not only friendly but also possesses extensive knowledge and experience in accompanying disabled youth on their personal journeys toward constructing meaningful lives characterized by independence, fulfillment, and prosperity.
Furthermore, YES serves as the central hub for information, support, and innovation catering to all disabled individuals, their families/whanau, support networks, healthcare professionals, and organizations alike.
The current initiative administered by YES goes by the name of the "Empowered Program."
